About paininjuryphysio.com

SGPainRelief.com is a labor of love for myself and Louise - it's the culmination of our passion, experience, skills and expertise really (Louise the neck and shoulder physio, Nigel the elbow, wrist, hand and fingers hand therapist) that we found many patients either dont understand or ignore too long and the pains becomes more complex when left undiagnosed and untreated for too long.

Plus we're softies - we dont like pain, and dont like it when others are in pain.

We write content around helping individuals understand aches, discomfort and pains in their

  1. bones
  2. muscles
  3. joints
  4. tendons
  5. ligaments
  6. cartilage
  7. nerves

that they may get due to wear and tear, acute / traumatic injuries or other medical conditions.

That being said, we're not doctors, we're a physiotherapy and hand therapy couple (more of us below) with training, interest and experience in orthopedic injury and pain management. If you need urgent medical attention, please see a doctor.

Our journey of physical therapy and hand therapy:

  1. We both started out in public restructured hospital in 2005 / 2006 respectively, and after getting tired of the politics play and lack of time for individual patient care (can you imagine it, I used to treat more than 30+ hand injury and fracture patients in a day!), so that naturally pushed us into private practice so that we can effect better physiotherapy and hand therapy pain relief and functional outcomes for our patients.

  2. Our first business was Urbanrehab (we were the original OG founders), where we provided physiotherapy and hand therapy. It was also where we made the most business mistakes as first time business owners, learnt a lot and we grew the business until it was sold in 2014. Louise exited that business in 2015 and I in 2017.

  3. Louise started Phoenix Rehab Orthopedic and Sports Physio, TCM & Hand Therapy Singapore in 2018 with a couple of friends, and we still run that business (I joined in 2019 and I'm currently the CEO and hand therapist there; Louise is the COO and physiotherapist there). It's a great business and we're pretty contented serving the therapists, patients and referring doctors, and we expect it to grow more over the next years and decades. Every session is one-to-one, unrushed with no help of assistants (only very experienced therapists work with us) and lots of hands on manual therapy accelerates healing.

  4. SGPainRelief.com (this site) started in 2023 to help people in pain to:

goals and aims

Our goals are to help you

  1. understand the kind of painful injuries and conditions that you may have, to guide you towards making a health decision ie see a doctor, a physical therapist, a hand therapist etc.

  2. find helpful products, tools or supplements to help decrease pain and heal faster

  3. prevent invasive injections or surgeries whenever possible, unless really medically necessary, of course (we have met, work with and serve many good trustworthy Singapore orthopedic doctors that we can refer you to who can advise you on your injuries and pain as well)
